Celebrate 2010 World Down Syndrome Day with DSAW!
The Down Syndrome Association of WI (DSAW) is celebrating World Down Syndrome Day on Saturday, March 20th, 2010. We are excited to partner with Best Buddies Wisconsin to provide a Financial Management Skills Workshop for young adults and adults with Down syndrome and other special needs! This workshop is FREE OF CHARGE and open to all individuals with special needs, age 15 and older.
We are aware that teens and adults with disabilities have an increased opportunity to gain financial independence. It is apparent how crucial these types of skills are in today's workplace and in life. As individuals with disabilities are being provided additional opportunities and encouraged to become more independent, it is imperative that they understand the concept of finances. This not only minimizes the chance that others could take advantage, it also allows the opportunity to understand proper fund management, as well as, enhance their quality of life. This workshop is designed for ALL abilities and will be adapted to meet the needs of each individual’s skill level.
Do you know of someone with special needs that could benefit from this opportunity? Do you know of someone that would like to volunteer? Please help DSAW spread the word and share this wonderful opportunity! This event will be held at Manpower Corporate Offices in downtown Milwaukee from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm and includes lunch.
Space is limited so call Carrie at (414) 327-3729
