The Community Outreach Committee (COC) was formed in 2005. With a primary mission of promoting awareness and understanding of Down syndrome, the COC has:
Distributed New Parent Packets
Included the book "We'll Paint the Octopus Red" in many of the packets
Formally presented Sensitivity Training to medical staffers in Oshkosh "Compassionate Care for Families with Newborns who have Down syndrome"
Created Down Syndrome Awareness Boards placed at area librairies & Children's Hospital
Sponsors Topical Membership Meetings - DSAW Info Meetings
