Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin
Member Grant/Scholarship Program

The Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin Member Grant Program provides financial support for members of DSAW to help offset the cost of conferences, training events or other educational programs.  Additionally, the fund is available to assist in helping offset some of the cost of a service or item that can benefit the quality of life and development of a person with Down syndrome.

buddy-walk-04-118.jpgEach month, two grants are awarded.  Each grant is limited to a maximum of $250.00 and an individual may receive a maximum of two grants per calendar year.

There will be times when the DSAW Member Grant Program cannot meet all submitted requests.  In these situations, approval for the funds will be made using the following criteria:

  • First time users of the fund.
  • There is an educational benefit to the request
  • The grant will assist in the personal development of the person with Down syndrome
  • The request has direct benefits to the person with Down syndrome
  • There are no other resources available to meet the need
  • Grant applications will be considered in the order of receipt

Grant requests will be reviewed on the second Tuesday of each month.  DSAW must receive the application at least 30 days before the time of consideration.  You may apply online. (click here for the grant application).  You may also print out the application (PDF) and either mail it or fax it to:

The DSAW Member Grant Program must reimburse for actual expenses.  A check cannot be sent to you before you actually attend or participate in a planned activity or purchase the services or item to benefit the person with Down syndrome.  You must submit original receipts with your claim form, within four weeks after completing the event or purchase.

When you are approved for an award, a confirmation letter will be sent to you with a claim form.  Included in the award letter will be the details on how you will be reimbursed for your approved expenses.
