DSAW hosted 8 World Down Syndrome Day celebrations across Wisconsin featuring skating, dance parties, pool events, and more. See how we celebrated inclusion and community statewide.

Eight Celebrations, One Mission

DSAW was full of energy, connection, and celebration as we came together across Wisconsin to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD). This year, DSAW proudly hosted 8 celebrations across the state, bringing together individuals, families, and communities in meaningful and joyful ways.

From roller skating to dance floors, pool parties to community gatherings, each event reflected what WDSD is all about, celebrating inclusion, raising awareness, and embracing the incredible individuals in our community.

Families laced up their skates at our Central chapter celebration, made a splash at pool parties in Southeastern Wisconsin and Fox Cities, and danced the night away in Green Bay. In La Crosse, South Central, Chippewa Valley, and Sheboygan, families gathered for fun-filled events that brought smiles, laughter, and connection to every corner of the state.

While each celebration looked a little different, the heart behind them was the same. These events created space for families to connect, for individuals to feel celebrated, and for communities to come together in support of a shared mission, promoting acceptance, inclusion, and opportunity for individuals with Down syndrome.

World Down Syndrome Day is more than just a single day, it’s a reminder of the impact we can make when we come together. Whether you attended an event, shared a post, wore your crazy socks, or supported DSAW in another way, you were part of something bigger.

Thank You to Our Community

Thank you to our incredible families, volunteers, board members, and staff who made these celebrations possible. Your time, energy, and passion are what bring our mission to life.

We can’t wait to continue the momentum throughout the year with even more opportunities to connect, celebrate, and support one another.
