April was full of energy, connection, and meaningful moments across DSAW as families came together to learn, play, and support one another. From high-energy events like the Gymnastics Open Gym at Fusion Athletics—complete with an inspiring performance by the Chereabilities team—to inclusive community events like the first annual Limitless 5K, we saw individuals of all abilities showing up, పాల్గ and thriving. Chapters across the state hosted a wide variety of opportunities, from supportive group gatherings for moms, grandparents, teens, and parents, to hands-on learning experiences like the Teddy Bear Clinic and visits to children’s museums. Families connected through fun outings like bowling, mini golf, movie nights, and indoor play spaces, while others enjoyed special experiences like SibConnect Weekend in the Dells, story times, and community meetups. Even unpredictable weather didn’t stop the fun, with families braving the elements for hockey games and coming together for family nights, fundraisers, and Earth Day celebrations. Across every event, the heart of DSAW was clear—building community, creating connections, and making lasting memories.
Fox Cities
April was such a fun month filled with play, laughs, and great memories with our DSAW Fox Cities families!
We started things off at Luv 2 Play, where families had a blast climbing, exploring, and burning off energy together. It was such a fun way to connect and enjoy time with friends old and new.
Next up was Tommy’s Indoor Mini Golf, where families put their skills to the test and shared plenty of laughs along the way. It was the perfect mix of friendly competition and fun for all ages.
We wrapped up the month with a trip to the theater to see The Super Mario Galaxy Movie together. From popcorn and snacks to enjoying the movie as a group, it was such a fun way to relax and spend time together.
Thank you to everyone who joined us throughout April and helped make each event so special. We love creating these opportunities for families to connect, have fun, and make lasting memories together 💙

Greater La Crosse Area
April brought us to the La Crosse Children’s Museum for a night of exploration and learning. We had a surprise visit from Bluff Country Snakes and got to learn about the therapeutic qualities of our reptile friends.

Green Bay
On April 19, families joined us for a high-energy Gymnastics Open Gym at Fusion Athletics. Participants had a great time exploring the gym, building skills, and enjoying movement in a supportive environment. A special highlight was a performance by the Chereabilities team, who wowed the crowd with their enthusiasm and talent!
We also had a fantastic time participating in the 1st annual Limitless 5K, hosted by the CP Center. This inclusive event featured both a 1K all-abilities walk/run and a 5K race, bringing together individuals and families of all abilities. In addition to the races, local organizations hosted resource booths with engaging activities for families. At the DSAW-Green Bay booth, attendees learned more about our programs, designed and colored socks, and enjoyed a game of cornhole for a chance to win fun prizes.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make these events so meaningful. We love seeing our community come together!

South Central
April was a busy and exciting month for DSAW-SC, filled with connection, fun, and meaningful community experiences. Our Moms Group and Grandparents Group continued to provide supportive spaces to connect, share experiences, and build strong relationships. Teens stayed active with The CREW, while parents enjoyed time together through the Parents of Rock Group. Families had the chance to explore and learn together during our visit to the Baraboo Children’s Museum, and siblings built lasting connections during our SibConnect Weekend in the Dells, full of fun and bonding activities. We were also proud to partner with University of Wisconsin–Madison medical students for a hands-on Teddy Bear Clinic, helping participants feel more comfortable with healthcare experiences in a fun and engaging way. Social outings were a highlight this month with The Super Mario Bros. Movie in Beloit, the Culver’s Share A Night fundraiser, bowling in Watertown, and wrapping up the month with an adult dinner and movie night featuring Zootopia.

Southeastern WI
April was a fun-filled month across Southeastern Wisconsin for DSAW families! We connected with friends old and new at meetups at the Betty Brinn Children’s Museum, Milwaukee Art Museum, and Wauwatosa Public Library story times.
Our DSAW moms enjoyed a well-deserved evening out during Mom’s Night Out, families made a splash together at the RecPlex pool, and despite stormy weather, many braved the rain to cheer on the Admirals at a hockey game, and others joined us for a lively Family Night Out filled with food, board games, and laughter.
We wrapped up the month by celebrating Earth Day with a hands-on teach-in at the Racine Public Library—an inspiring way to learn and connect as a community.
