Chippewa Valley

DSAW-Chippewa Valley spent an afternoon braving the rink, playing in the arcade and exploring the enormous play area at Eau Claire High Roller! It was so much fun to skate, play and get to know one-another! Thanks to those who joined us!

Fox Cities

November was filled with connection, movement, and gratitude for our DSAW Fox Cities families.

We kicked off the month with a high-energy outing at Xtreme Air, where participants had the chance to jump, play, and burn off some energy in a fun and inclusive environment. It was wonderful to see friendships forming, lots of laughter, and families enjoying time together outside of their daily routines.

Later in the month, we gathered for our annual Friendsgiving Celebration, held at the Building for Kids Children’s Museum. Families shared a meal, meaningful conversation, and plenty of laughs before spending time exploring the museum together. From hands-on exhibits to imaginative play, everyone had a great time discovering all the Building for Kids has to offer. Friendsgiving continues to be a special opportunity for families to connect, celebrate the season of thankfulness, and enjoy the strength of our DSAW community.

We are grateful to everyone who joined us and helped make these events so memorable. We look forward to closing out the year with more opportunities to gather, celebrate, and support one another.

Southeastern Region

Good food and great conversation was the highlight of the KRW Parents Night Out on November 14.  We talked about everything from behavior challenges with our kiddos to helping a mom find a reliable contractor to do household repairs.  We love our Down syndrome community and the connection we have.

On November 15 several families gathered at the Racine Theater Guild to watch The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley.  Poor Stanley got flattened in a freak accident.  Just when he thought he’d miss out on life, the mailman points out that he could travel.  Stanley embarks on his adventure visiting Hollywood, Paris and Hawaii.  This is the first live action theater experience we’ve offered our DSAW families and they all loved it!  Another outing is planned for 2026!

DSAW families gathered on November 21 to enjoy the festive magic of the Ingleside Country Christmas Walking Lights Event. Families and friends strolled through the glowing displays, soaking in the holiday spirit, sparkling lights, and warm community cheer that made the evening truly special.  About 145 people bundled up and joined in the fun! Thanks to everyone for joining us!

Sheboygan and Surrounding Counties

Sheboygan enjoyed our yearly Parkour Event and our Teen Hangout Club! Our Parkour event was so much fun with us learning how to be ninjas on the equipment. This event is always a chapter favorite!
