DSAW-South Central is hosting a FREE day of age- and gender-specific sessions with Terri Couwenhoven on healthy relationships, communication, boundaries, and personal well-being for individuals with Down syndrome or related disabilities. The sessions take place Saturday, November 1, with separate programs for ages 10–15 and individuals 16+, plus breakfast or pizza depending on the session.
Join DSAW as we partner with Challenge the Outdoors for an afternoon of fishing, fun, and family! Experience fishing in an inclusive and welcoming environment. Bring your own fishing pole if you have one. Don't have a pole? No worries—we'll have fishing poles and bait available for you to use! Register by September 10, 2026
DSAW Sign-N-Play playgroup offers children ages 1 to 5 year-olds with Down syndrome, their parents, and caregivers the opportunity to have fun and learn in a friendly environment that promotes spoken and sign language, early literacy, and social & emotional development. Sign-N-Play includes circle time, peer-to-peer socialization, games, toys, and more. Activities are presented using
DSAW hosts a monthly support group for those who are caring for aging loved ones with Down syndrome. Each month we meet to share in conversation and support with other parents, siblings, and caregivers.
Join other DSAW caregivers once a month for a book club! We choose a different book each month and get together to discuss. We read a variety of genres (both fiction and nonfiction), and books do not focus specifically on caregiving or parenting.
Join DSAW Central and area families for a day of mini-golf! We will meet at Sawmill Adventure Park on September 19th at 1:00pm. DSAW Central will cover the cost of admission for with Down Syndrome or a developmental disability, as well their immediate family members.
Join other Moms have a loved one with Down syndrome or related disability for a night out on Saturday, September 19, from 6:30-8:30pm, at The Rock Bar & Grill in Beloit.
Join DSAW and the general public for an evening of stargazing! Come experience astronomy as we use various telescopes to view the stars! Admission and parking are free. RSVP BY: 09/18/2026 *The grounds are not illuminated for better observing. Please watch young children and instruct them to respect the telescope equipment provided by our members.

Athletes with differing abilities are invited to join DSAW for an Adaptive Rock Wall Climbing night at Odyssey Climbing + Fitness! The evening will consist of an orientation, fitting for equipment, and rock wall climbing. This adaptive event is limited to eight individuals over the age of ten.
