Family Events

Chapters across the state provide fun family events (many of which are free) throughout the year. We welcome thousands of people to hundreds of picnics, pool parties, holiday events, and celebrations in Wisconsin each year.

Enrichment Grants

The Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin Enrichment Grant Program provides financial support to help offset the cost of items or services that can benefit the quality of life and development of a person with Down syndrome. Grants should be specific to individuals with Down syndrome — examples include therapies, educational events, adaptive technology, and educational programs.  If you have questions about your request, please email info@dsaw.org.

Meal Assistance Program

DSAW offers hospital meal assistance through meal vouchers to families that have a child with Down syndrome who are experiencing an extended hospital stay. Currently, we only offer this program for hospital visits occurring at the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin.

There are no income guidelines and no application for this program. Just contact DSAW at (414) 327-3729 or info@dsaw.org, and let us know when you will begin your stay and your anticipated length of stay.

Awareness walks

Our signature fundraising and awareness events, our awareness walks allow the organization to provide life-changing programs and services to thousands of families in Wisconsin while raising awareness and acceptance of people with Down syndrome and other intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDDs).

No matter where you live, there’s support available
