Free Programs

DSAW has a large menu of free programs for children with disabilities. At this time, these programs are all held virtually using Zoom technology. We offer Music Therapy, Tiny Tots, Stream Team, and more!

DSAW Connects

Children ages 10+ who are able to use Zoom technology independently are also invited to participate in our DSAW Connects classes! We have virtual classes focused on topics ranging from social skills to cooking to sports.

Daily Living Skills/One-on-One Services

DSAW staff also provide one-on-one daily living skills training at home and/or in the community. We work with your family to accomplish your child’s goals and help them to achieve their dreams! See below for examples of our one-on-one services.

  • Money Skills - cash and card transactions, counting money, making change, using ATM’s, card readers, vending machines, etc.

  • Easy Meal Prep - making a sandwich, salad, health snack, packing your own lunch, microwave cooking skills, etc.

  • Safety - at home or in the community; when to call 911, answering the door, crossing the road or parking lot safely, being aware of your surroundings, etc.

  • Social Skills - with peers and in the community

  • Self Care - hygiene, coping skills, stress reduction

DSAW’s chapters and locations around the state host fun family events throughout the year, such as picnics, holiday parties, and our Down Syndrome Awareness Walks.

For now, we are doing monthly, statewide, virtual family events, and some locations are doing safe, socially-distant meet up activities! Click here for our statewide calendar of events, and visit our Locations page to find events in your area of the state.
